sports day 2012
Ah sports day. Whats to say about this tradition of standing around for an afternoon in the sun or the rain. Well this year it was sunny – horray! It still involved teams of children queuing for most of the time to throw a bean bag in a net, balance a beanbag on a tennis racket etc and in between looking bored and dispondent. Parents also looked on in varying stages of teduim. Frankly parents really need to be involved, I’m all for a retro sports day with three legged races and egg and spoon races and sack races where overly competitive parents get overly competeitve. It would defiantly have a bit more spark to it. It did give me a chance to take a few pictures – theres a surprise!
would love to see you doing the three-legged race! these photos are brill, Jo .I love the ones of Es and Nina concentrating. especially the last hoop one. But I also love the boy peeping over the wall. And the baby. It is a great post!
Cheers cab the baby and the boy are my favourites as well!
Suggest it! We had a few sports days where either teachers or parents had a couple of races. But back in the DAY we also didn’t have bean bags for safety either. Either that or they need some cake stalls to go along with all the sportiness.
There were apples for sale (which weren’t being bought!). Alas no cakes! I’d love to suggest parent/ teacher involvement but it’s mega organised by a teacher who I’m thinking wouldn’t be that open to suggestions / I may be wrong though…
I feel I should also apologise for the blood splatter, it’s actually paint if that helps ;p
Haha never considered it was blood until pointed out! Was viewing it more as an abstract art work…
NIce photos, the first two are so cute.
Thanks
the first photo is very expressive. beautiful.
Thankyou
