adventures in street photography

Inspired by Boldface’s photography last week I’ve decided to have another go at street photography. This time in Newcastle with my foil being the super dancey group The Bagdaddies. I’m quite pleased with the first attempts. I’m sure it will improve with time.

I’ve also been on my first run in probably 25 years or so. This is in training for The Race for Life event. The kids are very keen to engage me in training, E saying ‘you always say exercise is good for me mum’ and N saying ‘ come on you want to do well don’t you’. Hopefully they won’t be to disappointed when I stagger last over the finishing line.

These are a selection of the photographs from today.

  1. great photos sis! you are cut out to be a street photographer! Nasser often uses Kaley as a foil to get the interesting people without being obviously intrusive. I have just looked to comment on a favourite and have realised they are all my favourite. Since the run is in July I am going to try and train to run with you – I will try and work out comparable distances in the park…..it would be great to be in solidarity – both last over the line together! I will still have a month to train.

  2. It would be great to run with you – I’m building up slowly 2nd run today (15mins combined jog/ walk). The girls are very excited and made themselves my trainers.
Thankyou also for the lovely comments on the photographs a foil is defiantly the way ill be going at present anyway.

    • Well I’m exaggerating really to call it running more like a jog / walk – but a start in the right direction anyhow! And I understand the Noooo – I would have said the same about running just 7 days ago.
